Natural gas is becoming the favourite fuel for the future, since it is the option of less environmental impact of all fossil fuels with high hydrogen/carbon ratio in its composition and it can be applied for both domestic use and for generation of large-scale energy. The UK has been benefiting from its oil and gas reserves, however much of the UKCS is now in the mature phase of its lifecycle as its reserves are depleting. Our reliance on natural gas supplies from abroad, and seasonal variations in the demand make gas storage a key stage in the chain of value.

OSL have been involved in a wide variety of projects in different onshore gas terminals in the UK, offering solutions in the design and engineering of gas treatment processes used in these terminals. We also have extensive experience in gas storage and can develop and deliver the right solution for our clients, including underground natural gas storage in man-made caverns in salt domes and bedded salt deposits.
