Regasification
Natural gas liquefaction results in the reduction of volume of the gas, therefore allowing for more economical transportation by sea in LNG carriers to receiving LNG terminals. At these terminals, the LNG is heated back into gas (regasified) and injected into the National Transmission System (NTS) or local power stations for local users. Regasification is a process of converting LNG at minus 161 degrees Celsius back to natural gas at atmospheric pressure.
OSL has experience in design and engineering of common LNG regasification technologies including:
- Ambient Air Vaporisers (AAV)
- Intermediate Fluid Vaporisers (IFV)
- Shell & Tube Vaporisers (STV)
- Submerged Combustion Vaporisers (SCV)
- Open Rack Vaporisers (ORV)
