Revitalising Force

Having wished Mercy Smith a fond farewell on the completion of a 40-week placement as part of her engineering course at the University of Bradford, we have now welcomed Oluwatofunmi Adelakun for the exact same arrangement. Tofunmi, as she is known, is already benefiting from working side by side with experienced professionals, and we’re confident that the upcoming months will prove mutually beneficial.

Jonny Elvidge, who graduated from the University of Bath this year, was lucky enough to spend his summer travelling around South America. Upon his return, he jumped straight into his new role as Graduate Engineer and began his professional journey to become a chartered engineer.

Both Tofunmi and Jonny are based on the ground floor of OSL House and between them are working on EKB and SSE project activities.

Meanwhile, Paul Kaliafetis joined our team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. Hailing from Greece, Paul has over 20 years’ experience working in the petrochemical, oil, gas and associated industries. He has developed an expertise in FEA Stress Analysis, Thermal Analysis, advanced 2D/3D design, motion analysis, modelling and simulation, so needless to say he’s a huge asset to the company already. Over the coming months, Paul will relocate his family to Hull to make the city their new home.

And last but by no means least, Grahame Price moved back to his hometown of Hull to become a Project Planner, initially working on SAPetro and EKB. Grahame has spent the last 6 years working at Rolls Royce in Derby in their project planning department. This skills set is very beneficial to OSL, as he has extensive experience in using Primavera and MS Projects and fully understands the lifecycle of our studies and projects.

All four new joiners have been warmly welcomed into the OSL team, and their timing couldn’t have been better as we are now fully integrated into new premises on Henry Boot Way. Look out for upcoming articles on the team’s projects and research in the coming months.
