Experienced Engineer Takes a Lead Role
Neil Harvey has worked with OSL since 2009 and knows the company inside out, from our philosophy of Clever Thinking to on-going developments that are leading us forward in the energy sector. This knowledge, experience, capability and determination allow Neil to excel in his field, and we are delighted to announce that he has recently been promoted from Senior to Lead Process Engineer.
With a great deal of SNS experience, having worked on a variety of OSL projects that included BP, Perenco, CoP, SSE and Centrica, leading our bid for the Bahrain LNG terminal and project managing the Lavaca Bay LNG project, Neil left OSL for a year to concentrate on developing his own business. Previously on a contract, we recently discussed how he could become more involved with our expanding team and came to a mutually beneficial arrangement. Now a permanent, full-time member of staff, Neil has the opportunity to help younger engineers to develop their skills and experience, which blends nicely with our participation in the IChemE’s Accredited Company Training Scheme (ACTS). We envisage that Neil, along with other seasoned engineers at OSL, will provide graduates and new team members with valuable mentorship and advice over the years, helping them to achieve their career goals and work toward Chartership.
Hailing from Castleford, Neil studied Chemical Engineering at Bradford University and has always worked in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region, with projects spanning the UK and far further afield. His role has always included site visits alongside office-based responsibilities, and January 2015 saw him become a Fellow of the IChemE.
Principal Director Alastair Robertson said: “Having Neil on board as a Lead Process Engineer is a real boost for the company. His relationship with our local clients and knowledge of the Southern North Sea and its challenges will help OSL to take its commitment to sustainable solutions even further.”
Neil has jumped into his new role with true commitment, leading a continually growing team of creative, forward thinking technical specialists. You can connect with Neil on LinkedIn and keep up to date with company developments on our page.
